A panel of professional women with expertise including healthy relationships & sexuality, herbal & traditional medicine, pregnancy & birth, and holistic health will share relevant information and resources available in our community. Each panelist will describe what “self care” looks like through the lens of their expertise. Audience members will have an opportunity to ask their own questions of individuals or the panel as a whole. Dr. Myers is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist with a specialization in sexuality and gender. She is a lecturer in the Department of Psychology at Humboldt State, and is a two-time winner (2014, 2015) of the North Coast Journal “Best HSU Professor” award. She is the owner of Good Relations, a feminist-oriented, education-focused lovers' boutique in Eureka. Dr. Jan Dooley, DC strives to help patients reach their optimal health. She uses her training as a Doctor of Chiropractic to manipulate the joints, tissues and organs of the body. She also applies holistic health principles to help patients improve their structural, chemical and emotional health. She earned advanced degrees as a Diplomate of the American Board of Chiropractic Internists (DABCI), and Certified Chiropractic Sports Practitioner (CCSP).

Ramona Lima, RPh, FAARFM, ABAAHP,CME
Ramona graduated from University of Texas at Austin in 1990 with a B.S. Degree in Pharmacy. In 1997, she and her husband established Lima’s Professional Pharmacy.
As a compounding pharmacist, Ramona saw the need to provide natural or Bio-identical Hormone Replacement therapy as an alternative option for peri and post-menopausal women. Her interest in improving women’s health and quality of life inspired her to become a Certified Menopause Educator and become a Fellow Diplomat of the American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine Health Practitioners. Ramona has consulted hundreds of women in our community and strives to educate and work with local practitioners.
Allison Poklemba is a botanist, herbalist, and environmental educator who has been learning from plants for 20+ years. She teaches Botany for Herbalists, Sea Vegetable, and Herbal Adventure classes with the Dandelion Herbal Center. She spent several years teaching Herbalism at HSU. Allison shares botanical knowledge with great enthusiasm blending scientific knowing with folk traditions. She is a co-owner of Backcountry Press, a local publishing company focused on cultivating a healthy relationship with the Pacific Northwest. Jodie DiMinno is a yoga instructor, certified massage therapist, and doula, specializing in prenatal and restorative yoga. She brings a sense of fun and inquiry into her work, and offers clients a safe space to explore deep states of rest and reflection. As a doula, she offers education about pregnancy and childbirth, and lovingly supports women and their families through this time of immense change. She believes that pregnancy and birth have the potential to be magical and deeply transformative events. Madelin Amir WHC NP, Breast Health Navigator at the Breast and GYN Health project.
Madelin came to Humboldt County to go to nursing school at HSU in 1978. Her career allowed her to work as a clinic nurse at the Hupa Tribal Clinic and North Country Clinic. She then worked as a Woman’s Health Nurse Practitioner at Six Rivers Planned Parenthood for 17 years. Madelin currently works as the Breast Health Navigator at the Breast and GYN Health Project.
The Breast and GYN Health Project (formerly the Humboldt Community Breast Health Project) is a community resource of support and education for those facing a breast or gynecologic cancer concern. Our services include a client navigator program, support groups, information specialist, warm line volunteers, an extensive lending library and so much more. We provide information, support and hope.
Kelly Johnson, LCSW,
Kelly has almost 15 years experience working with people with severe mental illnesses in community mental health settings. Kelly earned an undergraduate degree in Social Work from California State University in 2004 and a Master of Social Work degree from San Francisco State University in 2009. Her interests are focused on social justice with an emphasis on sustainability.
